The Underwood After School Program, or UASP, was founded in 1982 by several parents in the Underwood Elementary School. The program was established to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children in grades K to 5 after the school day ends.

The primary goal of the program is to meet the individual needs of children by offering flexibility within a structured, stimulating environment. The program offers a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, music, drama, sports, games, and field trips.
The Underwood After School Program is staffed by a group of professionals with wide ranging backgrounds, working together for the safety, care, and enrichment of the children in the program.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

We, the UASP staff, are a team comprised of passionate educators whose range of personal and professional experiences enable us to provide optimal after school care. We design and implement engaging and diverse learning opportunities while encouraging students to make good choices and try new things. We foster a safe, nurturing environment where students are listened to and feel respected. At UASP, we aspire to deliver programming tailored to meet our students' needs and interests. We encourage children to feel empowered to express their creativity, develop new friendships, and learn and grow as valued members of the Underwood School community.
